VAN ZYL'S REUNION
Straightway Head host the reunion of the Van Zyl family on sunday the 22nd of November. They were treated with true Straightway Head hospitality. After a good sunday lunch they have a relaxing day at the pool. A day that will be remebered for a very long time.

A Norwegian group traveling on motorcycles first stop was at Straightway Head, before continuing their tour through the rest of SA. We treated them with a traditional South African Braai at our beautifull Pool Bar Lapa.

SUPPRISE 40th BIRTHDAY PARTY
WOW, thank you thank you thank you!! We had a function at Straight Way Head Country House Hotel on Friday, 30 October 2009.
From the moment I walked in at those doors I was treated with respect, enthusiasm and nothing was too much to handle for these people. Our function at another venue turned out to be such a mess, I cancelled the venue due to un-cleanliness & lack of assistance… therefore we came to Straightway Head at the last minute. We had a day to plan everything.
The night I walked in, it looked like they had a month to plan all the decoration and detail they put into this event. I was blown away. Coming out of the Hotel Industry myself and always expecting the best, I was surprised as to the extent these people went. Everything was done in excellence, love and with a smile on their face. It was like it was their own function.
Thank you Marius and Hetta for making my friends 40th Birthday Party the most memorable party she has ever had. I cant wait to work with you guys again. You are awesome
A big thank you as well to the Cheff, Peter… you are awesome. The food was great and more than enough. Everyone loved it. Thank you for accommodating us with the menu, you saved my life!!
I pray that you will receive an abundant bookings (accommodation and restaurant), that you will be packed out for Christmas and New Year, that people will flow in at your establishment and that you will experience and overflow!
I for one will surely tell everyone where to go from now on.

Maryke, a German Intern that worked for the Straightway Head Hotel has left her South African Family to gain more experience in the hospitality industry at a Guest House in Gardens, Cape Town. She treated the staff to Sushi the night before she left.
SOMERSET WEST DUTCH CLUB
Every friday evening the Somerset West Dutch Club meet at Straightway Head for happy hour from 6 to 8pm. They are better known as the Swallows.

PET FRIENDLY!
Hi everyone, it's been a while since we have last posted.
Sorry about that.
We just thought that with summer on our doorstep, we should let you know that at straightway head restaurant, your pet will also be a welcomed guest!
We love our furry (and none furry) friends and would love to meet yours!
So the next time you feel like doing something or going out for a bite, come visit us, and bring your pet along... we have a BIG garden for them to play in and we are sure that both you and your pet will have a wonderfull experience with us.

SPORT and happy hour at the spookhill bar
Hi everyone... Just a quick update, we had DSTV installed a few days ago. So from now on you will be able to come to the bar area, enjoy a nice drink and maybe even something to eat (Our home made game burger is amazing if I may say so myself) while watching all the sport your heart desires!
As a added plus we have decided to include TWO happy hours (hours = nights) every week. The first will be on a wednesday night as a midweek break for everyone and the second will be on a friday night as a good starting point for your weekend. The happy "hours" will start from about 5 in the afternoon so no one will have to miss out because of work and it will continue untill the bar closes that night. With discounts on selected drinks and cocktails it promises to be a good night for all and we look forward to seeing you here soon.

National braai day
